I am not sure slop is the right word, though. Slop, to me, is when nobody takes responsibility for the output: prompt, paste, publish, done.
That is not what I am trying to do here.
Some pages on this site were created with AI assistance. This one included. I still decide what goes here. I still read it. I still test the page. I still have to be willing to stand behind it under my own name.
So, if you want the less polite description: I do not think it is AI slop. It is AI shit. But I believe it is good shit.
And good shit is not bad. You just need to get it together. Take it somewhere, you know, take it to the shit store and sell it… Or put it in a shit museum, I don’t care what you do, you just gotta get it together.
The point is: it has to become yours before you publish it.
The problem is not that a machine helped. The problem is publishing something you did not read, did not check, and would not defend.
